Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Skill to apply basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and/or painting methods and techniques, and basic shop mathematics and knowledge of material strengths and applications to construct, install, repair, or modify building structures and/or subsystems. Knowledge of standard safety regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to perform basic research and apply regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation. Skill to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret instructions and work from sketches, work orders, and basic blueprints. Skill to plan and layout work according to instructions and skill in measuring, constructing, and installing materials. Ability to operate snow clearing equipment and attachments to adjust attachments, blades, and auxiliary equipment. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry object weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Investigations (NACI). Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a valid state driver's license to operate light motor vehicles. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
