Job Summary
The Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) is a Continuing Care Retirement Community. This position description is for a GS-11 Financial Analyst, Business Center, Support Staff, at the Gulfport facility. The primary purpose of the position is to work with the Junior and Senior Financial Analyst in the Business Center to provide support to accounting, budget formulation, justification, and analysis; budget execution; and analysis of financial management records and reports. .
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Performing financial analysis and evaluation work requiring a comprehensive knowledge of (1) corporate finance and any specialized fields of finance required such as public finance, securities, international finance, money and securities markets, investments, and banking, and (2) the financial and management structure, operations, and practices of corporate and other organizations. Examples of specialized experience could include: Interpreting and analyzing accounting reports in order to brief senior staff; Ensuring financial accountability and compliance with rules, regulations, laws, and policies; or Analyzing financial resources, date and reporting/accounting systems and developing/recommending solutions to problems. OR - You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related. If qualifying based on education it must be in one of the following fields: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology. OR - You may qualify on a combination of education and experience: To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100% percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
