Job Summary
This position is located in the Office of International Affairs (IA). The Office protects and supports domestic prosperity and national security by promoting the most favorable global conditions global for sustained jobs and economic growth in the United States. The Operations Officer reports to IA's senior operations lead, supervises operational staff, and works with the Under Secretary for International Affairs and the Office's Assistant Secretaries (IA senior leadership).
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-14: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Experience independently performing analytical duties in support of planning, development, evaluation and decision-making affecting administrative and operational aspects of office-wide operations; AND - Serving as a management liaison with human resources personnel. AND - Providing management advisory assistance to high-level managers on difficult or unprecedented issues covering areas such as classification, training and development, recruitment and placement, performance management, compensation, diversity, and/or succession planning. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
