This position is located at US Mint,Financial Directorate - Reporting Section. As an Accountant, you will be serving as a staff expert in accounting and/or reporting with responsibility for providing analysis on all general ledger accounts.
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Specialized experience for the GS-9 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-7 level or equivalent, in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: - Assisting in collecting and analyzing and interpreting financial data; AND - Preparing reports of findings for evaluation and adjudication. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or masters equivalent graduate degree in either accounting or auditing or related fields, such as business administration, finance, or public administration. OR A combination of the education and experience listed above (1 and 2) in which my percentage of specialized experience and education totals to 100%. (For example: the completion of 50% requirements for J.D. and 6 months of specialized experience.) Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
