Job Description

Note: In order to be considered "qualified" for this position, your specialized experience must be described in your resume. To be qualified at the GS-13 level, you must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies AND at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal Service as defined below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing specific details and guidelines. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or other organizations) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knowledge of available products and services; commitment to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes providing assistance to co-workers in the immediate office. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: exchanging IT related information when called upon. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes reviewing computer related issues. AND Specialized Experience for this grade level includes demonstrating the ability to provide leadership and guidance to subordinate staff, providing training, and distributing and monitoring work in progress. Additionally, experience includes: evaluating and resolving hardware and software problems; providing user training and assistance on variety of routine applications; planning and improving information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; troubleshooting end user computer hardware and software issues; configuring, installing, and maintaining networked systems including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, workstation and mobile device troubleshooting and support, and related hardware; maintaining systems accounts with various enterprise software programs. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
