Job Summary
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of General Counsel (OGC). As the Governance Operations Specialist (Organization Title: Deputy Corporate Secretary) you will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Secretary and OGC's leadership by assisting in the effective management of all activities, operations and matters related to the Board of Directors, Board Committees, the Investment Committee, and the Credit Committee.
Job Description
Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is equivalent difficulty and complexity to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least 3 of the following: 1) planning and scheduling meetings at various levels of the governance process, including setting agenda topics and making sure relevant internal and external persons are invited and included for Board, committee and other related meetings; 2) evaluating program issues and requirements sufficient to recommend changes in administrative policies and business processes; 3) gathering and organizing data for analysis to be used by others in decision making; 4) communication in writing to prepare reports, instructions, and correspondence; and 5) managing governance operations in a government agency, private company or non-profit setting. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
