Job Description

Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-14: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as meeting two or more of the following: Providing leadership, coordination, and direction for all valuation services including but not limited to consultation, appraisals, and appraisal reviews; and/or Serving as a specialist and advisor on technical/complex valuation for a broad spectrum of real property such as mineral interest valuation; timber valuation, fee simple interest valuation; nationally significant properties with outstanding natural resources, cultural resources, historical resources, recreational properties, hunting and spiritual grounds and other economic and non-economic uses; and/or Preparing appraisals or reviews of land, or interest land, including conservation or other easement interest for acquisition, sales, condemnation, donation, exchange, lease and rental determinations for special uses. License/Certifications: OMB Bulletin 92-06, in compliance with Title IX of the Financial Institutions of Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989, requires Appraisers to be licensed or certified in at least one state or territory within the United States as a Certified General Appraiser. A copy of the license/certification must be included with your application package. Must possess a designation or accreditation from a professional appraisal organization that has adopted and adheres to the Uniform Appraisal Standards of Professional Practice. A copy of the certificate of accreditation or designation must be included with your application package. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
