Job Summary
This position is located in the Support Services Division (SSD) at a VA Regional Office (RO). The incumbent performs facilities management, property management, government vehicle management, PIV issuing responsibilities, and completes other administrative tasks, under the supervision of the Assistant Support Services Division Chief and/or Support Services Division Chief.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Basic Requirement/Individual Occupational Requirement: In order to be found qualified, applicants must meet the Individual Occupational Requirement below: Specialized Experience: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-09) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09). Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Experience developing and interpreting administrative policies and requirements and reviewing the work of other team members. 2. Experience assisting with any facility issues, equipment, service operation design projects; and analyzing and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of various administrative programs. 3. Experience with the renovation of existing office space, relocation of a team and/or office, facility improvements, workspace adjustments, and/or minor construction, etc. 4. Experience administering government regulations relating to environmental, health, safety, and/or security standards which can be gained through such activities as conducting safety and/or security inspections, assisting or monitoring a safety and/or security program, and/or identifying and/or resolving safety and/or security deficiencies .5. Experience analyzing use of space and facilities, safety and/or security inspections, and/or minor construction budgets, etc. and advising management accordingly. 6. Experience in s property management, inventory of supplies and/or equipment, procurement of supplies and/or equipment, and/or vehicle management, etc. 7. Experience in administration and management of an identity card program, to include, cardstock inventory management, card issuance, administrative oversight of role-holders, and issuing cards, as necessary. Time-in-grade: Applicants who are/were federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09 level. To support your claim of time in grade, you must submit your most recent appointment, promotion, or within grade increase SF-50 (not an award or general adjustment SF-50). Or Graduate Education: Major study -- public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. For some positions in this series graduate education may not provide the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience may be required for such positions. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D is creditable for GS-11. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also qualifying for grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. Or Applicants may substitute a combination of graduate education and specialized experience to qualify for the GS-11 position: A combination of less than the full year of specialized experience described above and less than the full amount of education described above, however, combined the experience and education equal 100% of the required qualification.
