Job Description
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of vehicle operation policies and regulations. Knowledge of overall warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling. OR TWO YEARS of practical experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Possess or be able to obtain applicable state and/or government driver¿s license. Responsibility: Acquires and uses a knowledge of the locations of stocked items, and how they should be displayed and stock rotated. Observes all required safety procedures. Work is reviewed for compliance with general guidelines and results achieved. Driving proficiency is assessed in terms of safe and expeditious completion of assigned jobs. Responsible for selecting routes and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations. May personally load or be responsible for overseeing loading and unloading of bulky, cumbersome cargo. Physical Effort: Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance. Working Conditions: . Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock. Work may require protective clothing.
