Job Description
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school. (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.) At least two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge in the applicable combination of trades sufficient to perform the duties of the position. A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire. Must be able to perform frequent bending, stooping, standing, cramped position, and lifting and moving objects weighing up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to visually examine and/or perform operational tests to determine the needs and types of repair work to be done to include minor carpentry. Ability to operate equipment such as industrial carpet cleaners & floor buffers, plumbing snake for clearing drains, and jet wash pressure washers. Ability to inspect and repair electronic and mechanical equipment by replacing defective parts. Skills in the use of a variety of hand tools commensurate with construction work, i.e., electrical drills, earth augers, motor driven skill saws, electrical sanders, band saws, drill press, sheet metal shears, and electrical test equipment and meters. productive Federal workforce.
