Job Description
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. May be required to in all kinds of weather conditions. Regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises and muscle strains. May stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old. Minimum of two years of experience required that demonstrates knowledge of all types of equipment maintenance such as light carts, golf carts, generators, mechanical rides, basic electrical knowledge, and supply/warehouse operations, systems, and procedures. Must be proficient with various hand tools for metal and wood work, such as rivet guns, metal cutting tools, hack saws, grinding tools, and files, hand saws, hand drills, screw guns, miter box, hammers. Must be able to interpret and apply technical and manufacturer's manuals specifications. must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include night time, weekends and holidays. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire for both truck and fork lift licenses up to 5-tons, and must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner's certificate (Medcert) from the US Naval Hospital. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Must be able to perform work requiring prolonged standing, walking, reaching and lifting. Skills and ability in loading, unloading and arranging cargo preferred. Knowledge and skills in basic computer operation to include Microsoft Outlook. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
