Job Summary
This position is in the Department of the Chief Operating Officer, Office of Facilities and Support Services (OFSS), in Washington D.C. The OFSS mission is to provide services to optimize our workforce's capacity to deliver on AmeriCorps' mission. In support of the OFSS mission, the Support Services Specialist provides support and services in the areas of budget, contracts, mail, supplies, records management, the Continuity of Operations Plan property, facilities management, and conferences.
Job Description

To qualify at the mid-range of the NY-02 /GS-07 level or equivalent, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next to lower pay band/ grade level NY-01/GS-05 or equivalent under other pay systems. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements and minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to successfully perform the duties of the position, in either federal or non-federal service performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments 1). Office management experience that included responsibility for a variety of support services such as facilities support, mail management, purchase of supplies and equipment, maintaining and archiving administrative files etc. 2). Communicating verbally and in writing to obtain and gather information from customers and other service providers. 3). Experience using electronic systems and software to support organization and filing management requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
