Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens This is a full-time Term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Academic Accomplishment (Master's or Ph.D. preferred) in Physical Education or related field. 2) Demonstrated ability to perform and teach or coach a variety of basic swimming and survival swimming skill techniques. 3) Ability to teach at a collegiate level personal fitness course. 4) Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of lifetime physical activity courses.
