Job Summary

This position is located at the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System in Honolulu, HI. The incumbent serves as the Administrative Officer (AO) within the Pharmacy Service. The incumbent administers, and coordinates services including budget formulation and execution, financial planning, accounting, procurement and contract administration, human resources management, space and equipment utilization, travel, property and records management, and related administrative support services.

To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must meet one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the Administrative Officer position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes experience coordinating all administrative functions of an office to include overseeing a range of human resources functions; acting as a liaison concerning personnel related matters; advising management on personnel allocations; managing budget formulation and execution; performing timekeeping functions; creating reports; coordinating and scheduling meetings; and managing and balancing financial aspects of general fund control points and purchase procedures. NOTE: Transcripts Required. ~OR~ COMBINATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed progressively higher-level graduate education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. It occasionally requires carrying of light objects such as files, books and papers; some walking, standing and bending. No special physical qualifications are required except the ability to adjust and be flexible to change in procedures, work pressures and deadlines.
