LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: This position requires the ability to communicate proficiently, orally and in writing, in English and Spanish. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes experience providing administrative support to a medical/clinical program or office performing duties such as budget and fiscal management, human resources management, strategic planning, program management and evaluation, etc. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ A master's degree or an equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. ~OR~ An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Your experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts are required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience with anatomic pathology and laboratory management. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Analytical Thinking Information Management Leadership Organizational Stewardship Planning and Evaluating IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work of this position is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. May have to visit other areas of the hospital and satellite clinics to study difficult problems or coordinate efforts as they arise.
