Job Description
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE-GS-6: Requires at least one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes utilizing multiple electronic accounts receivable and financial systems applying knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic coding to complete tasks pertaining to healthcare insurance verification, billing, first- and third-party collections, and resolving claims submissions. Specialized experience includes utilizing multiple electronic accounts receivable and financial systems applying knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic coding to complete tasks pertaining to healthcare insurance verification, billing, first- and third-party collections, and resolving claims submissions; and completing pharmacy claim submission functions for patients with reimbursable prescription insurance; and reconciling errors and taking action between the various systems. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Insurance Manages and Organizes Information Technical Competence IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
