Job Summary

The Veterans Canteen Service is seeking a Contracting Specialist. This position is a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of VC-13. At the VC-12 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of VC-13. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance.

Job Description

Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct analysis, problem-solve, and make decisions. Exceptional organizational skills, capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines with changing or conflicting priority levels. Proficient in PC skills and ability to work with various computer applications and programs. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of negotiation skills and procedures. Basic understanding of contract administration principles and practices to monitor contractor performance and compliance with all terms and conditions of the contract. Familiarity with commercial and government procurement regulations and methods is preferred.
