Program Support Assistant (OA)- Home Telehealth position is located at the John Cochran Division, VA St. Louis Health Care System, Nursing Service, Home Telehealth Program, St. Louis, MO. Responsibilities are Clerical/management assistance functions in support of the office, data collection for quality management functions, veteran contact for non-responder follow-up and triaging technical problems with home telehealth equipment.
Job Description
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/27/2024. GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: utilizing software programs required for unit functions including CPRS, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and TMS. Analyze and implement training on VISTA mailman, CPRS, Outlook, clinic profile management and PC applications software programs to employees. Implement and evaluate new and existing programs, build and update data bases and program files. Resolve computer problems via equipment operating manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, personal knowledge or consulting with IRM personnel. Extracts data from internal/external data sources to develop comprehensive processes design to track and trend data for various projects. Master operation of the telehealth equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, answering questions for customers, and supporting the team. Ability to design, write, review policies and data collection forms/techniques to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and validity of the end product. Provides customer service to internal and external customers. Communicates with a wide range of individuals (professional, clinical, administrative) in the resolution of problems and complaints. Communicates with a variety of individuals for the purpose of conveying information, scheduling meetings, negotiating timelines. Receive and return calls from a variety of stakeholders in a timely manner. Prepares minutes for assigned meetings and maintain computerized files. Review, edit, and update important documents, policies, and letters for format in accordance with VA standards including correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. collection and analysis of data for QI reports and performance improvement activities. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding. This may include clerical, technical, administrative, and professional people at all levels in the agency. TYPING PROFICIENCY: Must be able type at least 40 words per minute. There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work will involve both sedentary periods and periods of a great deal of walking and local travel since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and administrative services located in different areas of the Medical Center and surrounding clinics.
