Job Summary

About the Position: You will serve as a Supervisory Accounting Technician responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating (e.g. CEFMS II Data Manager), carrying out, and analyzing accounts associated with mission projects requiring reconstruction and/or reconciliation in the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System II (CEFMS) and other automated programs at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Finance Center.

GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Providing a variety of accounting oriented technical support through analysis / evaluation of accounting data; working corrective action regarding financial discrepancies, variances, or abnormal conditions and/or (2) Utilizing operational internal processes, and technical and automated system controls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Managing a variety of accounting oriented technical support through analysis / evaluation of accounting data; (2) Initiating corrective action regarding financial discrepancies, variances, or abnormal conditions to prevent similar discrepancies in the future; (3) Developing operational internal processes and technical and automated system controls; and/or (4) Supervising and managing human resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Fundamentals and Operations of Accounting Internal Controls/Integrity Managing Human Resources GS-09 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). GS-10 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
