About the Position: This position serves as a Section Chief, Acquisition Branch, New Orleans District Real Estate Div. with responsibility for planning, scheduling, budgeting, supervising, and reviewing section activities through subordinate Realty Specialists. Section activities consist of acquiring all real estate interests required to support construction, operation, and maintenance of USACE projects in accordance with applicable laws/regulations within the District's area of responsibility.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the federal service which includes: 1) Directing and advising clients, sponsors, and team members on the acquisition of major project lands, easements, real property and rights-of-way, AND 2) Preparing reports recommending acceptance of proposed counteroffers, acquisition or condemnation of property, AND 3) Performing the more complex acquisitions involving acquisition of partial interests, high value property, and/or relocation of residents or businesses requiring extensive coordination and negotiation with many different property owners. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Leadership Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
