Job Summary
About the Position: Performs a range of tasks supporting field and office engineering for assigned projects. Projects may include new facilities, major renovations, upgrades, maintenance, and environmental remedial activities, vary in type and size, involve multiple customers, and frequently characterized as highly technical and complex. This is a developmental position. The duties of this position lead to the full performance level of GS-0809-11. See Additional Information section.

GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with coordinating and planning construction projects, participating with the site visits, and monitoring quality control duties during construction projects such a new facilities, renovations, upgrades, and maintenance of buildings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with coordinating and planning construction projects, inspecting, and monitoring quality control duties during construction projects such a new facilities, renovations, upgrades, and maintenance of buildings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating and planning construction projects with contractors, inspecting, and performing quality control on construction projects such as new facilities, renovations, upgrades, and maintenance of buildings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
