Job Summary

About the Position: This is a developmental position. At the full performance level, the incumbent will prepare contract change orders and cost estimates, independently evaluate those prepared by others. Acts as "point of contact" for the change order, responsible for evaluating its design feasibility and cost effectiveness; negotiations and conducting any necessary coordination with project personnel, using agency representatives.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-809-08: One year of specialized experience which includes:(1) Applying cost and price analysis techniques; (2) Assist in review of contract requirements; (3) Preparing detailed correspondence and administrative documents; and (4) Coordinating with using agency and contractor personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Building and Construction Oral Communication Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
