Job Description
This position has a Selective Placement Factor for the GS-13 grade level that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any state in the U.S., the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. * NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current registration with your application to be considered for this position* In addition to the Basic Education Requirements and SPF for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Leading production of facilities mechanical engineering design packages, including design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing shore facilities mechanical engineering design submittals to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; 3) Providing shore facilities mechanical engineering design consultation services to officials during construction; 4) Tracking the progress of projects to ensure that they are kept within budget and that the drawings and specifications are completed within allotted design schedules.
