Job Summary

The incumbent serves as the Deputy Commander, DLA Aviation. The org is a national inventory control point (NICP) and 1 of 6 major DLA Major Secondary Commands (MSC), each being charged w/global mgmt of specialized and general acquisitions for the Military Services, other Federal agencies, and international orgs. The executive plays a vital role in managing the supply center operations and profoundly influences DLA and DoD-wide materiel management policy and related resource allocation decisions.

Job Description

Eligibility for this position will be based on clear and comprehensive showing that the applicant has had experience of the scope and quality sufficient to carry out the duties and assignments of the position. Building Coalitions: The ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, State and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals. In addition, DoD requires the Enterprise Perspective: The ability to apply a broad point of view and an understanding of individual or organizational responsibilities in relation to DoD or government-wide strategic priorities is required. Executives must demonstrate ability to work with internal and external partners to support national security objectives. This perspective is typically gained through a variety of diverse work experiences. A separate narrative statement addressing the Enterprise Perspective is not required. This information should be embedded within the application package (Resume, Technical Qualifications and Executive Core Qualifications). MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs) Applicants must address the TQs below separately to be considered. There is a one-page limit per TQ. TQs that do not match and address the specific qualifications as they are written below will not be considered. Demonstrated high level experience directing strategic planning, programming, budgeting, marketing, and execution of long-range supply management programs that shape organizational capability to respond to the changing missions and evolving environments. Ability to integrate materiel management policies and programs with DLA and DoD policies and programs, develop and execute long-term strategic plans, as well as financial planning and execution. Comprehensive knowledge of logistics and acquisition principles and management practices.
