Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Desired candidates will possess a FAC-COR Level II certification along with the below qualifying experience. To qualify at the GS-12 level: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: With disaster recovery, climate resilience, and/or community economic development; and Providing technical assistance and guidance to contractors and program officials (project deliverables, quality standards, and contract modifications); and Providing analytical and evaluation techniques to measure/improve program effectiveness/organizational productivity. To qualify at the GS-13 level: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: With disaster recovery, climate resilience, and/or community economic development; and Providing technical assistance and guidance to contractors and program officials (project deliverables, quality standards, and contract modifications); and Advising and developing recommendations on issues or problems; and Providing analytical and evaluation techniques to measure/improve program effectiveness/organizational productivity. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
