Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing construction projects to ensure compliance with required plans or contract provisions; 2) Interpreting specifications for a wide variety of standardized construction procedures; AND 3) Coordinating construction schedules to accommodate concurrent operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Applicants who are current Federal employees or who are eligible for Reinstatement may be able to qualify with experience equivalent to the second lower grade (GS-09) In-Service Applicants (i.e. current or former competitive service employee through promotion, reassignment, change to lower grade, transfer, reinstatement, reemployment, or restoration): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing construction projects to ensure compliance with required plans or contract provisions; 2) Interpreting specifications for a wide variety of standardized construction procedures; AND 3) Coordinating construction schedules to accommodate concurrent operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Building and Construction Problem Solving Project Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
