Job Summary
This position is located in the Chicago District office of the Office of Field Operations, Regulatory Operations. The district office is responsible for the overall management of an inspection and enforcement program involving meat, poultry, and egg products in one or several states. The incumbent of this position has responsibility for coordinating a variety of staffing and related functions to ensure proper and adequate coverage of inspection assignments.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements (including specialized experience and/or education) by the closing date of the announcement, as defined below: For the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level) that demonstrates: Assisting in researching and interpreting basic regulations and guides. Assisting in the development of staffing reports. Answering routine inquires on personnel, management, and customer issues. Maintaining and coordinating calendars and events. Managing personnel files, training, leave, staffing or other administrative requirements. For the GS-09 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that demonstrates: Researching inquiries and providing guidance and services to customers at multiple levels related to staffing. Maintaining personnel management and file/records management. Coordinating training and providing input or recommendations for training requirements. Researching and interpreting basic regulations and guides. Assisting in the development of staffing reports. Assisting in providing services to customers at multiple levels related to staffing.
