Job Summary
This position is located at the Gym and Fitness Center which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department. Incumbent serves as a Fitness instructor, personal trainer or group fitness instructor and may perform one or a combination of the following functions within the Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Program Branch: Group Exercise, Command Fitness Leader (CFL), Outreach, and Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP) Outreach.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: **ALL CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE ATTACHED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION TO BE CONSIDERED** Knowledge of the methods involved in various types of fitness or sports activities that will enable employee to carry out a variety of assignments. Practical knowledge of Exercise Science, Physical Fitness or related field. Knowledge of basic cardiovascular risk factors, weight loss and nutritional habits, proper biomechanic techniques. Skill in instruction and proper use of exercise equipment. Ability to handle emergency situations. Must possess a valid CPR and First Aid card. Ability to maintain records and reports. Ability to deal effectively with others. Capability to follow verbal and written instructions. Skill to take blood pressure readings Ability to take body fat measurements in accordance with Navy policy. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
