Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Food Service Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common food service and food preparation tasks. I have the ability to perform common food service and food preparation tasks. I can prepare cold food items and beverages for food service stands and counters, assemble food trays for delivery and collect soiled trays for the dishwashing station. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Effort: Continuous walking, standing, bending and reaching are required. Guides automatic food carriers weighing a maximum of 1000 pounds up and down hallways and elevators. Lifts up to 40 pounds on occasion. Working Conditions: Works in a clean, well-lighted area with warm temperature in the winter and very hot temperatures in the summer. Uses and cleans electrical equipment such as food carriers and reach-in refrigerators requiring use of detergents. Is subject to falls on floors made slippery by spilled liquids and foods, burns, and extreme changes in temperatures from working area to service halls. These working conditions and hazards are considered normal and have been built into the grading standards for the occupation.
