Job Summary
This position is located in the Division of Consumer and Business Education (DCBE), within the Bureau of Consumer Protection (BCP), Federal Trade Commission (FTC). DCBE is a dynamic communications shop, responsible for developing and marketing plain language educational materials to help consumers know their rights in the marketplace, and to help businesses comply with the FTC laws and regulations.
Job Description
To qualify for the Program Manager (Design and Print) position at the GS-15 level, you must meet the following requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing, implementing, and evaluating graphic design, print publication, and education campaigns programs and initiatives, preparing print and delivery specifications, receiving bids, awarding jobs, verifying accuracy of files, preparing and delivering print-ready design files, reviewing and approving proofs, maintaining and updating internal systems and records, following up on job quality and completion, and suggesting alternate printing techniques for common products, managing, analyzing, and overseeing graphic design, as well as print production and distribution activities, and tracking and managing related budgets, overseeing print databases to gather information regarding print publication and distribution matters, planning, organizing, reporting, and making decisions related to achieving graphic design and print objectives, including the development of plans for national campaigns, ensuring that the design and print program resources can cover desired print collateral in all the requested languages, and ensuring that the messaging in graphic designs adheres to plain language principles. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
