Job Summary

This position is located in the Office of Policy Development and Research. Under the direct supervision of the Regulation and Dissemination Unit supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing in-depth analysis of Federal legislation and/or policy changes for the purpose of developing and writing regulations, or modifications to regulations, which guide the national implementation of Federal workforce programs. This position is in the bargaining unit.

Job Description

You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for the GS-343-13, Program Analyst (Regulatory), as described below. Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower grade level or GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12). Qualifying Specialized Experience for GS-13 includes both of the following: 1) Experience analyzing legislation, regulations, or other policy documents; OR conducting research/fact-finding related to rule-making activities (e.g., proposed rules, draft final rules, requests for information, or policy documents); and 2) Experience writing, reviewing, and editing materials associated with regulatory processes; (e.g., pre-rule making, proposed rules, final rules, program guidance, policy papers, or briefing materials).
