Job Description
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-04 for GS-05, GS-05 for GS-06 and GS-06 for GS-07 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience is defined as: For the GS-05: Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Experience using an Integrated Library System (ILS). For the GS-06: Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Experience using an Integrated Library System (ILS) and experience cataloging library materials. For the GS-07: Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Experience using an Integrated Library System (ILS), experience with library circulation procedures and assisting customers. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
