Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: You must possess IT related experience that demonstrates competence in each of the follow: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving experience, typically gained in the Information Technology (IT) field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT; AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level resolving customer IT problems. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 1 full year of directly related graduate level education. You must include transcripts. -OR- Superior Academic Achievement in a directly related Bachelor's degree which meets at least one of the following requirements Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society -- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies To qualify for this position at the GS-09 level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: You must possess IT related experience that demonstrates competence in each of the follow: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving experience, typically gained in the Information Technology (IT) field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT; AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level resolving customer IT problems and training customers and other IT support employees in the use of IT systems and applications.. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; if directly related. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
