THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a DETAILED INSPECTOR GENERAL, Position Description Number T5233P01 and is part of the INSPECTOR GENERALS OFFICE, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.
Job Description
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have knowledge of established management principles and operating procedures plus skill in applying fact-finding and investigative techniques to gather clear-cut factual evidence of waste and abuse, or compliance with regulations. Must have experience applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues/inspections or investigations/inquiries concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations (discipline, efficiency, morale, economy, training and readiness) carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations). Must have knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources (people, money, or equipment) in the area studied. Must have experience analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs, along with knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of programs throughout a military command, complex multi-mission JFHQ (St), or equivalent, and the relationships of administrative support activities (e.g., data processing accounting, budget) to such missions.
