Job Summary
This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. The incumbent will be responsible for development and implementation of grant programs related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. Remote work may be approved for applicants outside the Washington, DC commuting area. Candidates located within the Washington DC locality area will be required to report to the worksite but may telework in accordance with agency policy.
Job Description
To qualify for the position of Grants Management Specialist, (GS-1109-11/12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to. To qualify for the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 or equivalent band or level; or its non-Federal equivalent that included experience: Assisting with programs that address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking, homicide, stalking, gender based violence, or victim assistance programs. Ensuring grant rules and regulations, to include grantee/awardee compliance with implementation and/or administration, are followed. OR PhD., or equivalent doctoral degree; or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related, or some specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have more than two years but less than three years of education as described above. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. To qualify for the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 or equivalent band or level; or its non-Federal equivalent that included experience: Providing advice and guidance on a variety of grant management programs, policies, regulations, procedures, and practices, relevant to grant programs addressing any of the following: domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking, homicide, stalking, gender based violence, or victim assistance programs. Ensuring grant rules and regulations, to include grantee/awardee compliance with implementation and/or administration, are followed.
