If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs administrative work and a typing speed of 40 Words per Minute (WPM) is required. You must certify your typing speed in the Announcement Questionnaire. Failure to provide this information will result in your being determined ineligible. Specialized experience is defined as performing administrative functions such as payroll, personnel. travel, procurement, budget, and/or formal correspondence. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, I have 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), combined with three (3) years of college study (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours). NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement in addition to the Selective Factor above: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.
