Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator Leader without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead others. Applicants must meet the screen out element to be considered further. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: perform common technical and administrative leader duties. I am skilled in prioritizing workload, using equipment and materials for specific work; answering questions and providing assistance; applying safety and housekeeping rules in the work area; operate motor vehicles; issuing, receiving and accounting for equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) and Ability to Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Operation of Motor Vehicles Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require the worker to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls when driving, turning, stopping and starting the forklifts and motor vehicles and in raising, lowering and tilting the forklift loads. Frequently lifts and carries supplies, material and equipment weighing up to 40 Pounds. Working Conditions: Subject to working out-of-doors during periods of inclement weather. Exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
