Job Summary
You will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist in the Industrial Support Department, Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Traffic Management Specialist experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a variety of Defense Transportation Systems (DTS) such as eRMS, ETA-Global Freight Management (GFM), Financial Air Clearance Transportation System (FACTS), Government utilized US Banks billing system (Syncada), to provide transportation oversight for all CONUS and OCONUS ATAC transportation operations in support of homeported or deployed Navy/Marines/Air Force/Army/Coast Guard units/activities, Foreign Military Sales, and Commercial Repair Vendors, Commercial Asset Visibility and Non-Commercial Asset Visibility. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Performs in-depth research using regulatory rules, policies, and contract rates to resolve disputes with contractors for discrepant shipping costs; 2) Makes arrangements for the movement of Redistribution Order (RDO) materials and Aircraft Engines by all transportation modes using contracted Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) and military airlift; 3) Reviews shipping activity transportation requirements to determine the most efficient and economical method of transportation; such as Required Delivery Date (RDD), weight, dimensions, hazardous classification, sensitive item classification, customs requirement and specialized equipment requirement; 4) Justifies the use of government funds for transportation services; research all shipping addresses for pick-up and delivery location accuracy; and prepare Transportation Discrepancy Report (TDR) and pertinent correspondence relating to loss or damaged equipment; and 5) Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing to support various customers.
