Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic providing fire prevention, fire protection, and emergency operations; responding to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team with associated vehicle and equipment. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position has a maximum entry age of 37. Candidates that will be older than 37 at the time of appointment will require an age waiver. Additional Conditions of Employment: You will be required to possess and maintain a current Firefighter I and II certification. You will be required to possess and maintain a current Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic certification. You will be required to possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. You will be required to possess and maintain a current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. You will be required to possess and maintain a current HAZARDOUS MATERIAL OPERATIONS certification. You will be required to possess and maintain a current National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 certification.
