Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the Acquisition Support Line of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic.
Job Description
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: Applicant must meet the following Department of Defense qualification requirements for 1102 contracting positions:1) Advising employees on technical and administrative matters to achieve organizational operational objectives; 2) Assigning work to junior employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, or the capabilities of employees; 3) Conducting pre-negotiation conferences to negotiate prices, terms, conditions, contract modifications, and settlements; 4) Performing both pre-award and post-award contracting functions relating to planning, development, advertisement, award, and administration of contracts; 5) Providing guidance and mentoring junior contract specialist; 6) Interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures to specific contracting issues; 7) Reviewing and assessing contract documentation to ensure adequate pre-award and post-award contract documentation is complete, accurate and included in contract files. http://www.secnav.navy.mil/donhr/Documents/CivilianJobs/DoD_Qualification_Standard_For_GS-1102.pdf And the title 10 requirements found here: http://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title10-section1724&num=0&edition=prelim Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
