Job Summary
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER, APEPM in the WATERFRONT SUPPORT BRANCH C244.1, SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Job Description
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-11 -Experience participating in conferences, ship checks, and makes worksite visits to determine planning requirements. -Experience revising plans and estimating work progresses. -Experience preparing tentative dry-docking and berthing schedules. -Experience reviewing reports on status of work on delays experienced and reschedules jobs as necessary. -Experience amending or rejecting work not meeting established standards. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12 -Experience investigating problems related to work performed by other Shipyard engineering and support groups. -Experience obtaining engineering decisions to effect timely, technically adequate and cost-effective resolution of problems. -Experience planning for projects, by determining facilities, equipment, material, numbers, and kinds of shop personnel required. -Experience estimating labor and material costs and preparing job order specifications assigning work to shops or codes in accordance with requirements.
