Job Summary
You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the FLEET SUPPORT & SPECIAL MISSION SHIPPS (RM2) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing contract requirements, evaluating performance and determining economic cause and effect on ship operations and lifecycle support. Experience with commercial maintenance utilizing limited on-board spares, determining life cycle management of equipment, and repair and logistics support for assigned ships. Experience administering complex budgets including assessment of expenditures, shifting funds between ships in the same line of accounting and briefing budget issues to Flag Officer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) levels. Experience planning, conducting, and evaluating long-range studies and analyses to implement commercial regulatory and United States Coast Guard (USCG), United States Navy (USN) requirements, inspections and regulations, including the maritime Code of Federal Regulations (CFR's), USCG requirements, and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
