Job Description
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards ). The following shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for positions covered by this standard. GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized Experience: Provide clerical and administrative support to the supervisor/office by: serve as a point-of-contact for an office; answering telephone calls; creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; route official correspondence; manage calendars by planning and scheduling of appointments and meetings based on their priorities and workload; track workflow by logging, organizing and assigning in coming tasks; assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures relating to assigned duties; experience in customer service; greeting the general public; receive inquiries from customers and direct them to the appropriate personnel; prepare and reconcile customer billing accounts; serve as the primary technical lead in the areas of accounting, finance, budgeting, timekeeping, travel, procurement and performing data entry in related automated systems. Create, update and manage the records management systems by maintaining departmental files consistent with bureau policies; process data calls ensuring that all requests of action for information are acted upon due dates are met; read and interpret legal land descriptions to verify ownership changes via deeds or other legal documents. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
