Job Description
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards ). The following shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for positions covered by this standard. Grade 05: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-04 level OR 4 years of education above high school Specialized Experience: Providing clerical support services to include updating record information, prepare and reconcile customer billing accounts, typing correspondence, and experience in customer service. Grade(6): One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized Experience: Providing administrative services to include information resource management, maintaining departmental files consistent with policies; and the experience to read legal land descriptions. Proficiency Requirement: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of 40 words per minute (wpm) typing speed. You may meet this requirement by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472).
