Job Summary

These positions are located within the 149th Civil Engineer Squadron in San Antonio, TX. Serves as the ANG Base Architect/Engineer and, as such, plans, directs, supervises and develops all architect/engineering and personnel management activities in the broad areas outlined below regardless of source of funds or methods of accomplishment. Manages all Air Force real property, utilities, and custodial, sanitation, and entomological services. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

Job Description

To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following: Specialized Experience Required At least 1 year of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-0810-12) experience, education, or training for management, supervision, or performance of (1) planning, designing, construction, and/or maintaining structures and facilities; and (2) investigating, measuring, surveying, and mapping the earth's physical features. Experience in managing the function of work to be performed. This position also typically requires: (a) knowledge of architectural principles, theories, concepts, methods, and techniques; (b) a creative and artistic sense; and (c) an understanding and skill to use pertinent aspects of the construction industry, engineering and the physical sciences related to the design and construction of new or the improvement of existing buildings. Experience that includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Basic Requirements: Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
