About the Position: You will serve as principal administrative support assistant. Responsible for the accomplishment of the clerical, administrative and office automation functions of the Area Office. Work requires general knowledge of office mission and functions of Branch and an understanding of how the office administrative services relate to each other and to the mission.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing an automated software to compile statistical data and reports, 2) Monitoring suspense dates for office staff, 3) Resolving problems associated with administrative and clerical aspects of the office AND 4) Acting as timekeeper for an office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist types 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Applies Technology to Tasks Clerical Manages and Organizes Information Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
