The incumbent serves as Laboratory Director for the Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) Science and Technology (S&T) Pest Identification Technology Laboratory (PITL) in Fort Collins, CO. The incumbent directs a small group of scientists and biological science technicians in two work locations. The incumbent also collaborates with the S&T Management Team and other program leaders to define long-term goals and priorities for PITL and S&T.
The Assistant Deputy Administrator (ADA) and Director of International Phytosanitary Standards plays a major leadership role with respect to planning, coordinating, and directing PPQ activities involving international standards that impact import and export trade in plants and plant products. This is a 100% remote position that must be located within the cities and/or counties listed in the vacancy announcement.
